Dreaming of new kitchen cabinets? A brand sold at the nation’s largest home improvement store chain might be among your best options.
The American Woodmark brand, sold exclusively at Home Depot, earned the highest customer satisfaction rating in J.D. Power’s latest annual Kitchen Cabinets Satisfaction Study.
One of multiple brands of American Woodmark Corp., American Woodmark boasts made-to-order hardwood products that are assembled in the U.S., according to its website. In addition to the kitchen, the brand offers cabinetry for bathrooms, laundry rooms and other rooms.
J.D. Power based its rankings on a survey of nearly 1,500 customers who had purchased cabinets in the prior 12 months.
Satisfaction was based on five factors:
- Design features
- Operational performance
- Ordering and delivery
- Price
- Warranty
Each cabinet brand included in the study received an overall satisfaction score out of 1,000. The average overall satisfaction score in the 2020 study was 850.
The top-ranked cabinet brands, and their overall satisfaction scores, are:
- American Woodmark: 870
- Ikea Sektion: 865
- Diamond: 854
- Thomasville: 852
Another four brands earned below-average satisfaction scores:
- Hampton Bay: 844
- KraftMaid: 841
- Kitchen Craft: 834
- Canyon Creek: 833
