During this Pandemic, I haven’t been wearing or buying much makeup. I mean how glamorous do I need to look to sit on my couch by myself? That said last Friday I got tired of looking old and tired so I pulled out some makeup I haven’t worn in a while and did this Pretty in Pink Look.
I started with the Benefit Porefessional Hydrating PrimerI got in my last Boxycharm box to prep my skin and then applied Laura Mercier’s Flawless Lumiere Radiant Foundation. This is a fabulous foundation and I will write a review of it soon. For now, suffice to say it’s the perfect combination of satin and dewy finish.
Then moving on the cheeks, I used the Cover FX Perfector Face Palette for my blush and to highlight under my brow bone. I don’t know the name of the blush (review of the palette here) but I’m guessing if you wanted to buy a single it would be Pink Dahlia, a bright medium warm-toned pink. I also applied a light dusting of the finishing powder in the face palette. By the way, I love this palette and have used it a lot!
As for the eyes, I turned to the Natasha Denona Coral Eyeshadow Palette. But first, the brows. I tamed my straggly brows with the Brow Bar True Glam Makeover Kit This is a great little kit that comes with two long-wearing brow shades, a brightening shade, a brow gel, and a double-ended brush. I’ve been using it every day since I received it in my December Boxycharm Box.
Next, I used my Natasha Denona Coral Eyeshadow Palette (reviewed here). Originally I wasn’t very impressed with this palette yet when I want a pink, coral, or sunset-type I have found myself reaching for it. I placed Lyria, a matte coral pink in my crease, the stunning Kai, a metallic coral champagne on the lid, and Lola, a metallic warm raspberry on the outer third of the eye. I used the highlighter from the Cover FX Perfector Face Palette on my brown bone. For tightlining I used the Tarte Inner Rim Eyeliner in black and coated my lashes with Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes.
To finish the look, on my lips is Appeal Ultra Cream Liquid Lipstick in Naked, a beigey pink. It looks peach in the photos but it’s really pinky-er.
My hair has a blunt cut now so I tried wearing it straight with this cute braided headband from Christy Brinkley to hold it back. It matches the lightest parts of my hair perfectly!
