In light of the circuit breaker, BreadTalk has launched a mobile bakery to bring their products closer to customers in the neighbourhood.
This initiative was set up so that people, especially seniors, will not have to travel too far to buy bread.
Through a truck called the ‘Flosssmobile’, they will visit neighbourhood areas such as HDB void decks to sell bread, tea cakes, and some items from Toast Box.
They have also partnered with Singapore Press Holdings to distribute Chinese daily newspapers to residents.
Senior citizens aged 65 and above can bring along their NRIC to receive a free pack of bread toast with any purchase, limited to one redemption per person per day.
BreadTalk’s Flosssmobile made its first appearance today (12 May) at Bishan Street 13.
It made two pit stops at Block 175 from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, and Block 160 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm.
In a Facebook post, BreadTalk said its mobile bakery will be returning to these locations every Tuesday and Friday until 1 June.
It will also be “bringing two more locations”, which have yet to be announced, until the same date.
The local bakery chain also went live on Facebook during their launch, showing how the food items are kept safe and fresh in the air-conditioned truck.
“This is our first day, and so far the response has been quite good,” said a BreadTalk employee in the live video.
Beyond the residents at Bishan, netizens have also shown a lot of interest. Many have commented on BreadTalk’s post, asking the bakery chain to bring the Flosssmobile to other neighbourhoods too.
