Let me start with the fact that I am an insomniac. I don’t just toss and turn, I actually don’t fall asleep most nights of the week. It’s typical for me to finally sleep starting at 6 a.m. I considered last night to be a success because I fell asleep at 4 a.m. Needless to say I’m useless in the mornings.
Because of my problem I am a huge proponent of eye creams. I don’t go a night without an eye cream and most days I’ll use one too. Dark circles and puffiness aren’t great for the ego. Therefore when I was contacted by TribeTokes and saw that they have two eye creams I knew I was in for a treat. This is a woman based company that uses natural ingredients. Plus they have a philosophical ideal of giving back. Right now every purchase contributes to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp.
While you can use either their CBD Cucumber & Peptides Eye Gel or the CBD Infused Eye Rescue Cream alone, combined they create a powerhouse that you’ll want to grace your eyes. First I want to mention texture. The gel is a creamy loose gel while Eye Rescue Cream is a thick balm.
Use CBD Cucumber & Peptides Eye Gel first, you need such a small amount that you’ll think you need more but you just need lentil size drop. Pat it under your eyes and let it dry. Follow with the eye cream for a double whammy.
The result? This helps restore elasticity, tightens and smooths, plus it helps plump the fine lines. I find this to be excellent for my dark circles.
Supercharged with an all-star line up of plant based ingredients that truly packs a punch, our eye gel includes: CBD (for inflammation), distilled cucumber, plant peptide, ginkgo biloba extract, hyaluronic acid, goji berry, green and white tea, and carrot root extract.
Follow with CBD Infused Eye Rescue Cream to achieve under eye skin that reduces puffiness, hydrate, smooth and brighten. I especially love using this at night knowing how it will help when I eventually wake up. This contains CBD, Arnica, Cocoa Butter, Aloe and Avocado. It’s most exciting that these are natural ingredients and not chemicals. I use a brush to apply because my nails are long and it’s a bit hard for me to pick up the firm cream with my finger tip. The opening of the jar is on the narrow side. I use the brush to apply it around my eyes, especially near the outer edges where crow’s feet would like to take up residence.
As an eye cream afficionado I’m not going to tell you that this is the last product from this category that I’ll review since I have others lined up. But what comes in the future is going to have a hard time matching up to these, especially the eye cream. I’m a big fan of Tribeauty now and hope to try more of their line.
One thing I admire is that you can buy a travel size/test size of each of these for $ 15. It’s a wonderful way to see if a product works for you (though I think you need longer than that). I like travel sizes because of my adversion to fragrance.
Amazon sells the Eye Relief Cream for $ 39 instead of the $ 60 on the Tribeauty site but they don’t sell the travel size. You can receive 15% off your purchase on Tribeauty too with the code WAKEUPANDBAKE. “At TRIBEAUTY, we only make products that we would give our own families, and aim to educate consumers so they feel empowered to enjoy products that also elevate their well being.”
