Take a deep love of nature, mix in a healthy dose of disco and fashion and add a passionate dollop of luxury and you have the Fawn Galli design cocktail. Unpredictable, witty and whimsical is how she likes it and so do her clients who appreciate her ability to perceive their deepest design desires even if they don’t know what they are. Join us for a behind the scenes visit with the designer in her eclectic Brooklyn town house where her fearless approach to design proves that everything works in the “surreal sparkle of (her) clashing worlds.”
Growing up in the wilds of Northern California (first a houseboat and then a cabin in the woods), Fawn developed “a deep sensitivity to space and environment, and the notion that a home can be a magical place.”
After a time in Paris and extensive travel always on the search for exotic adventure and a bohemian party scene, she ended up in New York where a job at an antiques store led to the decorative arts department at Christie’s followed by positions at prestigious firms Robert A.M. Stern and Peter Marino.
All these experiences have contributed to Fawn’s ability to create interiors that are one part fantasy and one part practical – her own vibrant version of form and function. Through a prism of layered textiles and furnishings and a heady mix of high and low, Fawn has the uncanny ability to create a sparkling vision and make it all look effortless.

But behind her out of the box spaces are grounded design principles of scale, structure, balance and color, which are distilled into five elements (Nature, Clashing, Surrealism, Bohemian and Sparkle) in her book, Magical Rooms.
