April Boxycharm

BoxyCharm continues to be my favorite beauty sub box, I’m always happy with it. Recently, there have been a few changes: it now costs $ 25/month instead of $ 21 but the value is now up to $ 200 as opposed to $ 100. You still get 5 beauty items plus a gift each month but now you can choose 1 item in your box every month. The selection still includes nail care, skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more. The box ships to the US and Canada. Each box has a theme with a card detailing the items inside. You can cancel at any time.

Festival Vibes is the theme for April though I fail to see it–haha. That said I love the items I received this month. Last month was just meh so I’m happy Boxycharm redeemed themselves with me this month.

Let’s start with the best of the box—the Zoeva Screen Queen Eyeshadow Palette $ 28 is gorge! This is my first Zoeva palette—I know, I know, bad, bad beauty blogger. I’m quite impressed with the texture–buttery and smooth and the shade selection–diverse.

Zoeva Screen Queen

Screen Queen takes center stage with an entourage of highly pigmented, ultra-rich shadows. Ten starlet-worthy shades in Matte, Shimmer, and Mettalic. Shades include:

  • Hollywood Influenced – matte soft pink
  • Remarkable Chameleon – shimmery rose gold–stunning!
  • Shine Your Light Now – mesmerizing peach
  • Relentless Perfectionism – shimmery rose
  • Best Work Unseen – shimmery dark purple
  • Emphasis to the Face – glittery taupe
  • Sensory Overload – sage green shimmer
  • Eye of a Painter – lustrous icy blue
  • Mirror Motif – shimmery gold
  • Transformative Power – satiny brown

Though impressive in the pan, you will definitely need an eyeshadow primer as these will disappear in about 4 hours otherwise. Having only one matte shade is a disappointment; I would have liked to see another matte in a transition shade. That said you can still create lots of pretty looks with this versatile palette. This palette is more than the price of the entire box so it’s still a win in my book.

Benefit The Porefessional Hydrate Primer $ 32. I’m a big fan of the original Porefessional so I was excited to try this version. It’s one of my favorite primers because it hides pores but is still lightweight. It’s slightly more hydrating that the original but I can’t say I see a lot of difference.

April Boxycharm

Hank & Henry Midori Beauty Sponge Bundle $ 20. Always happy for new sponges, these have a unique triangle shape that allows for easy application. I like that they included a large one for the fae and the smaller one for the eyes.

Lavish 5-pc. Neon Eye Brush Collection $ 29.99 is a cute set for eyes with bright handles. I have lots of makeup brushes (a lot from Boxycharm) sets so I gave this one to my sister.

Battington Lashes Harlow 3D Silk Lashes $ 31. One thing I’m really happy about with this set of lashes is that they included the glue! They have dramatic length and volume but don’t look like a drag queen. Now if only I could apply them properly!

Bottom Line:  Another great box from Boxycharm! The only item I wasn’t thrilled with was the brush set. April’s box has a value of $ 141 and I only paid $ 25 so I’m happy!
