BoxyCharm continues to be my favorite beauty sub box, I’m always happy with it. Recently, there have been a few changes: it now costs $ 25/month instead of $ 21 but the value is now up to $ 200 as opposed to $ 100. You still get 5 beauty items plus a gift each month but now you can choose 1 item in your box every month. The selection still includes nail care, skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrance and more. The box ships to the US and Canada. Each box has a theme with a card detailing the items inside. You can cancel at any time.
The theme for March is Edgy. For me, this box was okay: not a true disappointment but nothing to jump around about.
The Living in Color Eyeshadow Palette by Hank and Henry $ 27 can certainly be called edgy with 9 bright shadows inspired by the 90’s. Contains:
Contains:
4 ColorCanvas matte eyeshadows- (Drag Gun Blood, Rosalinda, Boyz Toy, and Rustiege)Finely milled mineral-based eyeshadows that are infused with vitamin E. These eyeshadows are packed with pigment, are buildable, and blend effortlessly.
1 PressedPearlsmetallic eyeshadows– (Foo Sha)These high-shine shadows are Infused with the highest grade effects pigments that give them a pearlized finish. These easy to blend shadows can be worn wet for a more foiled finish or dry for a more shimmered finish.
4 FyngrFoyl long-wear eyeshadows- (Sultry Sin, Pettycock, La Canela, and Mariana Trench) This unique long-wear formula is best applied with your fingers. The heat from your fingers activates the double-binder in the formula for a brilliant long-wear shine that lasts for up to 12 hours.
Farmacy Very Cherry Cleansing Balm $ 34. This pink, cherry-scented version of the bestselling Green Clean cleansing balm is infused with vitamin C-rich acerola cherry! The nourishing facial cleansing balm melts away makeup and pollution residue. Even the boldest eye makeup and long-wear foundation are easily removed, leaving skin hydrated and silky smooth.
I’ve been using Elemis Cleansing Balm which is much thicker and doesn’t remove eye makeup. I actually prefer the Farmacy brand because it feels lighter and gets my stubborn eye makeup off in a jiffy. It’s less expensive than Elemis too. I also like that it comes with a plastic ‘spoon’ to get the product out. This is a great find for me!
BECCA Ultimate Lip Definer $ 22. I adore the BECCA Ultimate Lipstick Love formula so I was happy to receive this. It’s a very soft and creamy 8-hour long wear lip liner that contours and defines the lips with precision. The innovative dual-ended liner comes with a built-in sharpener and pout-perfecting precision tool for effortless application and definition every time. I received the shade Toasty which is light, rosy pink and nearly perfect for every shade of lipstick.
Sutra Mini Ceramic Curling Iron $ 50. I love my cute yellow trave curling iron! I usually drag along my full size and it takes up so much room in my suitcase plus a TSA once thought it was a gun! This is perfect for the loose waves I’ve been wearing. Use code BOXY25 for 25% off from sultrabeauty.com
Chella Slanted Tip Tweezers $ 20. These compact tweezers have a unique no-slip grip coating, and stainless steel slanted tips for precision hair removal. I have plenty of tweezers so I would have liked something different like the Deborah Lippman nail set or even better, the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream set.
Bottom Line: even though this isn’t my favorite box, the travel curling iron is more than the worth the cost of the box. It alone has a value of $ 50 and I only paid $ 25 for the entire box. I also found a new holy grail in the Farmacy Very Cherry Cleansing Balm!
