Just before Christmas ColourPop had a great sale and I took advantage. I’d had my eye on Blush Crush for a while and it was packaged with Nude Mood and called She’s Soft Glam. Two eyeshadow palettes for $ 18, reg. price $ 24. I jumped at it. Sure I have every neutral palette on the Planet already so I don’t really need another one but since when did logic enter into my buying habits?
Blush Crush caught my eye because it’s full of pretty romantic pinks and mauves and I don’t have a lot of those shades in my collection. There is a mix of mattes, metallics, and super shock textures.
Lovesick: matte pale baby pink
Pop a Bottle: super shock light pink with pink and champagne gold pinpoints
The One: matte light peachy pink
Enamored: metallic light salmon
Made U Blush: matte midtone blush with gold flecks
Blossom Up: metallic pink with gold flip
How Rouge: matte berry mauve with gold flecks
Cheek2Cheek: matte midtone rose
Blush Wine: matte deep wine with gold flecks
The colors and textures work so well together and perform beautifully. There is a tiny bit of fallout on Pop a Bottle so you may find a few random sparkles on your face–it is very minimal though especially if you use a primer.
Highlights of the palette are Blossom Up is a gorgeous rose gold, Enamored, which brings such pretty lustrous light to the eyes, and Made U Blush is the most perfect coral with subtle gold flecks.
How Rouge and Blush Wine are great for lining and adding depth. I’m glad Lovesick and The One are included in the palette so I don’t have to search for brow bone and base shades.
For this eye look, I started with Made U Blush in the crease, Blossom Up on the lid, How Rouge in the outer corner, Pop a Bottle in the inner corner and Lovestruck on the brow bone.
Stay tuned, next time–Nude Mood!
