COVID-19: NTUC Enterprise Launches $50M Support Package To Help S’poreans With Cost Of Living

To help Singaporeans manage their cost of living, NTUC Enterprise is rolling out a $ 50 million support package, more than doubled the value of its support from $ 20 million last year.

This package includes measures such as extending discounts and programmes until Dec 31 this year, it announced in a press release on Monday (June 22).

NTUC FairPrice will continue to freeze prices of 100 housebrand everyday essentials until end of the year.

This initiative was launched in March last year and would have run until June 30 this year, providing customers with savings of approximately $ 17.8 million.

The six-month extension is estimated to provide an additional $ 6.7 million in savings to shoppers.

Special Deals For NTUC Union Members

As F&B businesses reopen for Phase 2, NTUC Union members will be able to enjoy a reduced price of $ 1 for Breakfast Set at all NTUC Foodfare and Kopitiam food courts and coffee shops, while the public will enjoy the set at a price of $ 1.50.

This promotion will be available for two months, from 3 July to 31 August 2020, 7-11am daily.

This initiative is estimated to bring about savings of $ 1 million.

Extension Of Discounts Or Programmes Until 31 Dec

NTUC Enterprise is extending several discounts and programmes for another six months to extend support to all households, seniors and NTUC Union Members.

As mentioned, NTUC FairPrice will continue to hold prices of 100 housebrand everyday essentials until end of the year.

Launched in March 2019, the initiative would have run for 15 months until 30 June this year, helping customers save approximately $ 17.8 million.

With a further extension until end of this year, it is estimated to provide an additional $ 6.7 million in savings to shoppers.

The 100 items are popular daily essentials and include groceries like rice, oil, beverages and poultry, as well as batteries, toiletries and household cleaners.

Last year the cost of 38 of the 100 housebrand items saw increases of up to 10 per cent, which means that FairPrice has absorbed over $ 350,000 as a result of this initiative.

Discounts For Merdeka Generation, Pioneer Generation, Senior Citizens and NTUC Union Members
