Don Don Donki Finally Opens In Lot 10 & Announces A Shopee Store That Ships Nationwide

Chain discount store Don Don Donki (better known by the name Don Quijote in Japan) has finally opened its doors in Lot 10, Bukit Bintang 9 months after its Malaysian launch was first announced.

Its very first outlet here spans 3 floors, selling a variety of imported yet affordable Japanese products that draw the attention of locals who love the same too.

In Japan, there are over 580 Don Quijote stores, with 12 Don Don Donki stores overseas as of July 7, 2020, owing to the popularity of its offerings.

The Lot 10 outlet opened at 10AM today, and users on social media shared snaps of a queue that apparently spanned 4 floors. Safe to say, Malaysians were excited to see the place for themselves.

Inside, the store is selling all kinds of products ranging from home appliances to food and even skincare. Food-wise, it has a selection of Halal certified products and serves no alcohol or pork.

When making purchases at the store, users can download and sign up for the DONKI app as a member to earn dMiles points which they can use to redeem coupons.

Those who are interested in seeing what the store has to offer but aren’t keen on the long lines (which we believe we’ll be seeing for a while), Don Don Donki Malaysia’s official Facebook page also later announced that they are now on Shopee.

It has less offerings than what you’d find in-store, but there are still 2 pages of noodles, confectionery and beverages for you to browse through. According to the team, they can deliver nationwide too.

Before Don Don Donki had even opened its first outlet here, it was already announced that it would have a second outlet at Tropicana Gardens Mall, Petaling Jaya sometime in 2021 too.

Depending on how well the franchise performs in Malaysia, it may open another 11 stores by 2024, said Satoshi Machida, President of Pan Pacific Retail Management (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, which owns and operates Don Don Donki here.
