How to Supersize Your Retirement Nest Egg

Not so long ago, for many Americans, retirement was a breeze. That’s because when retirement rolled around, your employer gave you a guaranteed monthly income for life — in short, a pension. That, along with Social Security, meant a safe, secure retirement.

Today things are different. Pensions are disappearing, replaced by 401(k)s and other retirement plans that transfer the risk from the employer to the worker. Which means it’s more important than ever to supersize your retirement nest egg, especially as you reach middle age.

That’s what we’re talking about in this week’s podcast.

As usual, I share the stage with longtime financial journalist and fellow podcaster Miranda Marquit.

Now, sit back, relax and give it a listen.

Not familiar with podcasts? Read this

I’ve been experimenting with podcasts for a few months now, but in light of recent events, it’s become part of my weekly routine.

If you’re not familiar with podcasts, no sweat. They’re simple to use and a great way to learn new things.

A podcast is just a radio show you can download and listen to anytime. They’re totally free. They can be any length, feature any number of people and cover any topic you can possibly think of. You can listen at home, in the car, while jogging or, if you’re like me, when riding your bike.

You can listen to our podcasts here or download them to your phone from any number of places, including Apple, Spotify, RadioPublic, Stitcher and RSS.

If you haven’t listened to a podcast yet, give it a try, then subscribe. You’ll be glad you did!
