A bit about Suki:
Due to chronic eczema compounded by extremely sensitive skin, Suki started formulating in her kitchen to create skincare solutions strong enough to treat skin problems but safe (not gentle) for those with highly sensitive skin. We continue that work by collaborating with dermatologists, scientists, and countless others to ensure we’re innovating with the latest in clean technology. This allows us to provide 100% clean, synthetic free, scientifically advanced skincare solutions safe enough for all skin types and safe on the planet.
I had a chance to try two of their fabulous eye creams: one for day and one for night. These two are part of the Renew Collection; amplification products for healthy aging & ultra-intense nourishing & moisturizing. Sounds perfect for us over 40 gals!
First off I love the idea of a separate cream for day and night. Nighttime eye creams are often too rich for wear during the day because they are thicker. When an eye cream is too thick, my mascara tends to smudge and I end up with black dots below my eyes–not a good look. Also, your body is in recovery mode at night so richer creams are more effective then.
So let’s start there. The Suki Ultra-Protect Eye Balm $ 42 nourishes & luxuriously moisturizes the delicate tissue around the eye. It is a balm and therefore greasy so you won’t want to wear it during the day. It contains a moisturizing complex of organic & fair-trade cocoa butter, coconut oil, beeswax & shea butter. Vitamin A jump starts college production & rejuvenates tone while sunflower, safflower & grape seed oils at the highest concentration of essential lipids maintain a strong & healthy moisture barrier. Tocopherol, a natural Vitamin E- helps retain cell-membrane stability and tightens & firms delicate skin. It comes with a small spatula which is nice for applying the balm.
You only need the teeniest bit, the jar will probably last you 5 years! Just dab a small amount to the undereye area–it will melt into the skin upon application. I take it out to the sides of my eyes where my crow’s feet are too. I hope to see some reduction in my wrinkles the longer I use it. It can also be used around the lips for lip lines.
I am equally impressed with the Suki Eye Lift Renewal Cream $ 69.
Formulated with Resveratrol (sourced from White Grape Seeds), Caffeine & Vitamin C to firm, brighten and nourish delicate under-eye skin. The texture of this eye cream is the opposite of the night eye balm. The Eye Lift Renewal Cream is light and fluffy making it perfect for under concealer and eye makeup. Again. just a tiny amount works to moisturize the under eye area all day. I like that it doesn’t slide or slip around and my eye area is hydrated all day.
The brands’ “safe for sensitivities” format provides stable time-release of Vitamin C, high-potency action without the caustic side effects of dryness, irritation & inflammation. This highly concentrated antioxidant liposome stays pro-active longer to stimulate collagen, elastin & new cell generation. It also helps fights premature aging & reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles.
Suki is cruelty free, vegan, synthetic-free, toxin-free, Leaping Bunny Certified, sulfate-free, paraben-free, petro-chemical free, contains organic ingredients, natural, pure, clean, and safe for sensitive skin.
Bottom Line: I’ve only been using the Suki eye creams for about a week but I noticed a difference right away. My under area feels way more hydrated and is brighter. I love the feel and consistency of both of them and I find them to be effective. Both winners in the anti-aging battle! Having success with the eye creams makes me want to try more from the line!
