Juvia’s Place Nubian 3 Coral Palette

Purchased by me

Juvia's Place Nubian 3 Coral

Juvia’s Place describes the Nubian 3 Coral Palette $ 20 as a new and soft take on the Nubian Series. It is a beautiful mix of corals, peaches and greys, both warm and cool tones.

I purchased this palette at Ulta Beauty for $ 20. I had received the Nubian Mini Eyeshadow Palette in one of my Boxycharm boxes and fell in love with it so I wanted to try more from the brand.

Corals, peaches, and greys sounds like a weird combination of colors I’ll grant you. However, The looks you can create are quite pretty and there IS a beautiful brown thrown in the mix for good measure.

The palette is a blend of matte, shimmer and glitter finishes. The shimmer shades are lovely but some of the mattes come up lacking. There are no shade names or numbers so I’ll try my best to describe them.

First row L to R:

  • Silver shimmer (can be used as a topper)
  • Matte dove grey
  • Pewter shimmer
  • Orangesicle shimmer

Second row L to R:

  • Coral shimmer with gold shift
  • Matte brick brown
  • Deep bronze shimmer
  • Matte sienna

3rd row L to R:

  • Matte orange
  • Matte grey
  • Peach shimmer
  • Matte papaya

Most of the shimmers are smooth and creamy with the exception of the silver shade which is a bit chalky. I’m sad to say the mattes are not as pigmented as I’d like. The pale grey shade doesn’t show up at all, the same with the sienna shade.

For this monochromatic look, I used the matte sienna & orange in the crease orangesicle shimmer on the lid, bronze on the outer third, papaya under the lower lash line.

For this look I used the matte orange shade in the crease, the silver shimmer on the lid, pewter shimmer on the outer third and under the lower lash line. I also used the silver shimmer under the brow bone. I don’t like this eye look as well as the other one only because these shades are not as easy to apply and work with.

Final thoughts: I love the shades but I am sad to say I’m disappointed in the palette. Especially after the success I had with the Juvia’s Place Nubian Mini palette. Many of the mattes are not as pigmented as they should be rendering only a few shades useable.

It’s not only my job to bring you products I love, but also to steer you clear of products I don’t think are worth your time or money. I’m sorry to say I recommend you skip this palette. Many, many brands have palettes with beautiful peach shades–ColourPop, Too Faced come to mind. As for silvers and greys, those are harder to find and the main reason I was excited about this palette was for those shades. The London palette from Lancome has some wonderful greys in it.

Next time I’ll have something you can love so stay tuned!
